Most of the wood used to make this flower pot comes from recycling wood found in classrooms in the Farnsworth Middle School that will soon be no more, due to the rebuilding that will start in 2025.  

Through normal wear and tear wooden tables, chairs, shelves and other wood objects would break or get damaged beyond repair.  Teachers would ask the “Knight” Janitor to dispose of these items, but being thrifty and following the students message of the three “R’s” (Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose), the Janitor would break down the furniture and use the wood to make the flowerpot before you. 

But don’t worry… I, the Knight Janitor, did sand out all the carved initials, trash talk, love notes, embarrassing sayings and drawings that were etched into the wood.
