Most of the wood used to make this flower pot comes from recycling wood found in classrooms in the Farnsworth Middle School that will soon be no more, due to the rebuilding that will start in 2025.  

Through normal wear and tear wooden tables, chairs, shelves and other wood objects would break or get damaged beyond repair.  Teachers would ask the “Knight” Janitor to dispose of these items, but being thrifty and following the students message of the three “R’s” (Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose), the Janitor would break down the furniture and use the wood to make the flowerpot before you.  

Some of the wood also came from the woodshop at Farnsworth where students would make a little “oops”... cutting a board too short or at a wrong angle, etc. and toss the wood out where the Janitor found it and added it to his creations.
